Why “Fig Tree” Financial Planning?
Micah 4:4 (NLT) Everyone will live in peace and prosperity, enjoying their own grapevines and fig trees, for there will be nothing to fear. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has made this promise! Want to keep reading? Click here.
The peace and prosperity promised in days to come are different than what we may think of in terms of financial prosperity. Our goal at Fig Tree Financial Planning is to be the best stewards of our gifts as possible, then leave the peace and prosperity part to God. When our focus and discipline is in the right spot, His provision for us will never be in question, regardless of how much money we have.
Trees are often a representation of wealth accumulation, due to the hard work that happens at the beginning and the many years where there is seemingly nothing to show for that hard work. Eventually, the trees start to produce fruit, often more than one person or even a family can use. If taken good care of, that fruit can be used to create more trees, causing an exponential effect. Investing can work similarly, if managed properly. The hard work doesn’t seem to pay off for awhile, until eventually the investment reaches a spot where it grows exponentially—something that seemed unlikely when starting out with such a small amount.
About Us
What our relationships center around
My goal is to have three areas of focus when working together: Stewardship, Service, and Education. When I partner with a client to create a financial plan, these principles guide the relationship from the beginning.
Stewardship
Money is a tool to work toward your goals; it is not the goal itself. Approaching your finances as if you were the manager of your assets instead of the owner leads to a more responsible approach. It is one rooted in biblical principles, including the practice of accountability, contentment, and prudence.
Our goal is to help you steward your finances with wisdom, making decisions that lead to a fulfilling relationship with your money in a way that helps you realize your true goals and pursue them.
Service
Our approach to all relationships is servant leadership. We are here to help lead you through your financial situation, whether that includes your personal finances, business finances, or family situation. Whatever your situation may be, our goal is to serve you the best way possible while navigating your complex questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out whenever we can be of assistance—it’s why we’re here!
Education
No financial plan is complete without an educated client. We make sure that your questions are always answered fully and that you have a complete understanding of the answers. Our goal is to make sure that our clients always stay informed. To do so, we have multiple meetings per year and are always available to answer questions.
At the heart of everything we do is client education. Whether it’s advising 401(k) participants on the basics of retirement planning, teaching kids about how to manage money, or hosting a workshop on Social Security planning, we want to make sure that we provide a solid education to everyone we affect. All of our education events are available at no cost and with no obligation—we just want to help people feel confident and informed with their finances.
